Walk-Up
Walk-up tickets are tickets purchased at the venue on the day of the show — as opposed to advance ticket sales through online platforms. Walk-up sales happen at the box office starting when doors open (or sometimes earlier) and continue until the venue is sold out or the show starts.
Why walk-ups matter
Walk-up sales are the last chance to fill the room. For the promoter, strong walk-up numbers can turn a slow-selling show into a profitable night. For the tour manager, walk-ups affect settlement — on versus deals, every additional ticket sold increases the artist's potential payout.
Walk-up pricing
Walk-up tickets are sometimes priced higher than advance tickets (to incentivize early purchasing) or occasionally discounted (to fill seats on a slow night). Pricing is set by the promoter and confirmed during the advance.
