Bus Call
Bus call is the scheduled departure time for the tour bus — the moment everyone needs to be on the bus, settled in, and ready to roll to the next city. It's one of the most important times on the day sheet, and the unwritten rule of touring is simple: the bus doesn't wait.
When bus call happens
On show days, bus call is usually after load-out — somewhere between 11pm and 2am depending on show time and curfew. On days off or travel days, bus call might be in the morning. The tour manager sets bus call based on the drive distance to the next city and the required arrival time.
The bus call rule
Miss the bus, find your own way to the next city. It's not a threat — it's logistics. The bus driver has DOT-regulated rest periods, and the bus needs to arrive at the next venue on time. Waiting for one person jeopardizes the schedule for everyone. Experienced crew members set alarms and are on the bus early.
Bus call vs. lobby call
Bus call is specific to bus departure. Lobby call is the departure time from a hotel — typically for fly dates or hotel-based travel days when the group is heading to an airport or venue by van or shuttle.
How Daysheets handles this: Bus call is a core part of the day sheet in Daysheets, with push notifications to make sure nobody misses it.
