A show buyer is the person at a venue or within a promoter's organization who decides which artists to book. They evaluate routing, ticket sale potential, deal terms, and market demand before making an offer through the booking agent.

How show buyers work

Show buyers receive pitches from booking agents, review available dates against their venue calendar, assess an artist's draw in their market (often using Pollstar data or past performance), and negotiate deal terms. They may buy shows for a single venue or a regional network.
