Show Call
Show call is the time the artist is expected to be backstage, dressed, warmed up, and ready to take the stage. It's typically 15-30 minutes before the actual set time, giving the artist a buffer to get in the zone while the tour manager confirms everything is ready.
How show call fits the schedule
Show call follows a sequence: doors open, the support act plays, the changeover happens, and show call hits. The tour manager or a designated crew member gives the artist time checks — "30 minutes to stage," "15 minutes," "5 minutes" — counting down from show call to the moment they walk on.
Why it's a separate call time
Show call is distinct from the general artist call time (when they arrive at the venue) because artists might be at the venue for hours before performing — doing press, soundcheck, meet & greets. Show call specifically means "be ready to perform."
