Venue Representative

A venue representative (venue rep) is the venue's point of contact for the touring team on show day and during the advance. The venue rep is distinct from the promoter rep — the promoter handles the deal, marketing, and settlement, while the venue rep handles the physical facility: loading dock access, local crew, power, rigging points, dressing rooms, parking, and any venue-specific policies.

How venue reps work with tours

During the advance, the tour manager or production manager may communicate with both the promoter rep and the venue rep — sometimes they're the same person, sometimes they're separate contacts. On show day, the venue rep is the person who knows where everything is, how the building works, and what the facility can and can't do.
